Suffolk Council goes back to school looking for software developers
Suffolk County Council is encouraging the next generation of software developers by providing schools with free mobile application building tools as part of an ICT education initiative.
The mobile app publishing service provided by web-software company Jadu and delivered through the government’s app marketplace, was piloted following a successful event designed to get local developers involved in creating mobile services for citizens.
Jadu hopes to role out the service to every education institute in the UK, allowing students with varying technical skills to create apps in real-time, without seeking approval from app stores or requiring downloading to end-users devices during development.
“If there is a way the UK will lead the technology sector and innovate to stimulate economic growth, it's by encouraging software development in schools, colleges and universities and build the next generation of developers,” says Jadu CEO Suraj Kiki.
